The 2018 Theme asks the question: How can organizations contribute to the betterment of society through elevating the health and well-being of those who live in it? What role can organizations play in positively affecting the physical,
psychological, social, and financial health of individuals, groups, communities, countries, regions, or global society?
Organizations are integral to, and have an interdependent relationship with, society. As such, they affect whether
societies realize their members’ health (“complete physical, mental and social well-being,” WHO 1946) and overall well-being (“being happy, healthy and prosperous,” Merriam-Webster). However, the role of organizations and the

Next year, we will be gathering in Chicago for the 2018 Meeting of the Academy of Management. We look forward to receiving your submissions and invite you to help us develop an intellectually vibrant program for 2018. To ensure that your submission is ready for review, please carefully read through all of the guidelines and instructions in the pages that follow.
The submission website will open toward the end of November 2017 and the deadline for submissions is Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Our advice is to submit early which will give you extra time to identify and resolve any problems before the system closes. If you wait until the last minute, you are more vulnerable to errors, such as technical connectivity issues, omission of a participant, and failure to finalize your submission.
As Division Program and PDW Chairs have such a short period of time to check-in and assign reviewers for all submissions, please ensure that your submission is ready for review. Any submission that is not finalized or does not follow all the proper guidelines (specified on the following pages) will automatically NOT be reviewed. We don’t want this to happen to your work, so please submit early and allow time for any revisions.
Thank you and we look forward to receiving your submissions for Chicago 2018!
